Danamon Receives Asian Banking & Finance Award 2025 for Danamon Global Currency Card

Jakarta, 7 August 2025 - PT Bank Danamon Indonesia Tbk (“Danamon”, IDX: BDMN) has been honored at the 2025 Asian Banking & Finance Awards, securing the Debit Card Initiative of the Year - Indonesia category, presented by Asian Banking & Finance (“ABF”). The Asian Banking & Finance Awards recognize financial institutions across Asia that have successfully transformed the banking landscape by delivering innovative and impactful financial solutions for their customers. The awards highlight organizations that excel in strategy, innovation, and execution, contributing significantly to the growth and advancement of the financial sector in the region.

At this event, Danamon was awarded the Debit Card Initiative of the Year – Indonesia for its Danamon Global Currency Card. This product is specifically designed to address customers’ foreign exchange transaction needs and is equipped with a range of standout features, including:

  1. Enjoy savings on cash withdrawal fees and waived currency conversion charges for debit card transactions abroad within the Maestro, Cirrus, and Mastercard networks
  2. Benefit from waived currency conversion fees for purchases at overseas EDC machines within the Mastercard network.
  3. Free cash withdrawal up to 30 times per month with no admin fees at more than 100,000 ATMs across Indonesia, including those in the Danamon, ALTO, Prima, and ATM Bersama ATM and CRM networks.
  4. Take advantage of auto-switching currency, with overseas purchases debited directly from your foreign currency account—no extra setup required.
  5. Receive 5% cashback for online debit and e-commerce transactions with overseas merchants; and
  6. Contactless transactions feature.

By June 2025, Danamon saw a 14-fold increase in the number of Danamon Global Currency Card customers compared to the previous year, while transaction values grew by nine times over the same period.

In the judging process for this award, candidates were evaluated across three main categories: Uniqueness and Innovation, which reflects the bank’s dedication to delivering breakthrough products and services that set it apart from competitors; Effectiveness and Impact, which focuses on the ability of the bank’s offerings to address customer needs and deliver satisfaction; and Dynamism, highlighting how the bank navigates industry challenges, leverages technology, and adapts its strategies to meet the ever-evolving needs of its customers.
