Frequently Asked Questions

  • Customers can use Danamon Mastercard debit cards for overseas transactions that have Mastercard, Cirrus and Maestro networks. For Danamon GPN Debit Card, it cannot be used in overseas transactions.
  • For payments at electronic data capture (EDC) terminal machines, there is no fee charged to customer but there are exchange rate differences for transactions in currencies other than rupiah.
  • For cash withdrawals at foreign ATM machines, customers are charged a cash withdrawal fee of IDR 25,000 per transaction and the difference in exchange rates for transactions in currencies other than IDR.
  • There is no debit card administration fee.
  • If the debit card has expired, please come to the branch to exchange the expired debit card free of charge.
  • Please immediately block your debit card by contacting Hello Danamon at 150090 or block it via Dbank PRO in the "Debit Card Management" menu. For a debit card replacement, it can be done at our Danamon branch.
  • Limit of debit card transactions at EDC: IDR 25,000,000/transaction/day.
  • Limit for spending on debit cards at online merchants (debit online): up to IDR 10,000,000/transaction/day.
  • Customers can change their PIN at branches, Danamon ATM machines, and the D-Bank PRO application via the Debit Card Management menu. 
  • Contactless feature is a technology that allows debit/ATM card holders to make payment transactions by simply tapping or tapping the debit/ATM card on an Electronic Data Capture (EDC) machine that supports contactless transactions without using a 6-digit PIN.
  1. Transactions using contactless debit/ATM cards at EDC with a tap (contactless) can only be used overseas/internationally.
  2. Domestic transactions using contactless debit/ATM cards can still be made at EDC machines with a dip (insert card) and 6-digit PIN input, as well as for other transactions as below:
    • Transactions at online merchants/e-commerce (online debit).
    • Transactions at ATM and CDM machines.
    • Activate and Create PIN on EDC PIN Pad.
  • The transaction limit using the contactless feature is IDR 1,000,000/transaction/day, which is part of the transaction limit at EDC using the dip/transaction method with a 6-digit PIN. Contactless transactions above IDR 1,000,000 require 6-digit PIN authorization.
  • Danamon Online Debit service is a payment method to be use on online stores/ e-commerce merchant sites using Danamon Debit-ATM Cards that are certified by Mastercard 3D Secure (MSC / Mastercard Secure Code) at 3D Secure (MSC / Mastercard Secure Code) certified merchant sites (online store).
  • 3D Secure (MSC / Mastercard Secure Code) is a security feature from Mastercard to protect online transactions for Debit/ATM Cards and Credit Cards. This service is only available at merchant sites that also support 3D Secure Mastercard services, where they use OTP (One Time Password) code protection for online shopping payment on the internet (e-commerce merchant) to verify customer transactions.
  • As an online payment alternative for online transactions at online stores / e-commerce merchant sites that supported 3D Secure (MSC) using Danamon Debit/ATM Cards, thus Danamon Debit/ATM Cards not only can be used at physical merchants with EDC machines.
  • Safer transactions, because every e-commerce transaction that uses Danamon Debit / ATM Card will be asked to input the One Time Password (OTP) code every time you make a payment transaction.
  • No additional fee charges to the Customers.
  • Is an online store/e-commerce merchant site that has received certification from Mastercard. This certification is to ensure the security of online payment transactions and protect customers from cyber fraud.
  • Transactions at merchants that adopt 3D (3D Secure) – OTP (One Time Password)
    1. After customers log in to the desired online merchant site, place an order and proceed to the payment process, choose Debit Card or Mastercard as your payment method.
    2. Enter the Debit/ATM Card Number, valid thru (expiry month/year) and the 3 digit CVC number (Card Validation Card) that can be found on the back of Debit/ATM Card.
    3. Check the details of your transaction information, enter the One Time Password (OTP) that you received via SMS, then press "Continue".
    4. Payment transaction confirmation will appear once payment is complete. Save merchant reference information and payment references then Press "Continue" to return to the merchant site.
  • Transactions at merchants that do not adopt 3D (Non 3D Secure Merchant)
    1. The customer enters the desired online merchant site, places an order, and proceeds to pay by selecting Mastercard Debit Card as your payment method.
    2. Enter the Debit/ATM Card Number, valid thru (expiration period) and 3-digit CVC (Card Validation Card) number found on the Debit/ATM Card.
    3. You will not receive OTP from your SMS as a form of verification, instead verification can be done with a password or PIN from the merchant's application/website.
    4. Payment transaction confirmation will appear once payment is complete. Save the merchant reference information and payment reference, press "Continue" to return to the merchant site.
    • The customer already has a Danamon ATM/Debit Card with an active saving account.
    • Have a valid and active mobile number that has been registered in the Danamon system to receive OTP (One Time Password). Update data if there is a change in address, telephone number or e-mail address by filling out the “Form Pengkinian Data” at the nearest Danamon Branch.
    • An OTP is a 6 (six) secret digit number that is unique and valid for only 1 (one) transaction. The code is sent via SMS to the Customer's cellphone number registered in the Bank's system as an authentication for every online shopping payment transaction carried out for transaction security.
    • The OTP (One Time Password) code is valid for 5 (five) minutes after the SMS is sent to the Customer's cell phone number.
    • If the Customer incorrectly enters the OTP (One Time Password) code 3 (three) consecutive times, then their Danamon Debit Online service will be blocked. To be able to make a transaction again, the Customer can request to unblock it by contacting Hello Danamon (1-500-090). The unblocking can be done by using the T-PIN (Phone Personal Identification Number). if the Customers does not have the T-PIN, they can request Hello Danamon to create the T-PIN by verifying the Customer data first.
    • Risk of failure transaction due to system failure.
    • Risk of failure transaction because cell phone number used is not registered on the Danamon system.
    • Risk of failure transaction because merchants are not 3D Secure (MSC) certified.
    • Customers can register and use any type of Danamon Debit/ATM Cards that have a Mastercard logo.
    • Customers are given an initial limit (default limit) of IDR 2 million/transaction/day which can be changed up to IDR 10 million/transaction/day.
    • Objections to Online Debit Transactions which are not transactions made by the Customer listed in the Customer's account mutation, can only be submitted by the Customer no later than 30 (thirty) calendar days from the date of the transaction via Hello Danamon at number 1-500-090. Bank Danamon has the right to approve or reject requests for objections to Transactions in accordance with the provisions that apply to Bank Danamon and will deliver decisions on filing objections to such Transactions through the communication media available by Bank Danamon.     • Danamon Global Currency Card is a Debit/ATM Card with the Mastercard logo that can be used to make transactions at ATMs, payments at EDC/POS, and Online Debit payments using funds from the currency balance available in the Customer's Danamon LEBIH PRO account, without being subject to exchange rate conversion.
    • Danamon Global Currency Card allows overseas shopping transactions without being charged currency conversion and directly debits Danamon LEBIH PRO foreign currency accounts. The shopping transactions in question are cash withdrawal transactions, balance checks, shopping at POS/EDC, and online debits.
    • The transaction will debit the IDR currency account and there is a currency conversion. If there is not enough balance, the transaction will be rejected.
    • Indonesian Rupiah (IDR), Singaporean Dollar (SGD), Chinese Yuan (CNY), US Dollar (USD), British Pound (GBP), Japanese Yen (JPY), Australian Dollar (AUD), New Zealand Dollar (NZD), Euro (EUR), Hongkong Dollar (HKD), Canadian Dollar (CAD), and Saudi Arabia Riyal (SAR).
    • If the foreign currency in Danamon LEBIH PRO is not sufficient, the transaction will be rejected.
    • Danamon Global Currency Card can be linked to accounts other than Danamon LEBIH PRO, (for example Primadollar Account) as a secondary account. However, only Danamon LEBIH PRO accounts can be linked as primary accounts. As a secondary account, it means that the account can only be used as a source of funds for transactions at Danamon ATMs and the D-Bank PRO application only.
    • Danamon Global Currency Card can be linked to both accounts, namely Danamon LEBIH PRO as a primary account and FlexiMAX as a secondary account. If customers want to use FlexiMAX as a primary account or as a source of funds for debit card purchases, then customers need to have another type of Debit Card that will be linked to FlexiMAX as a primary account, in addition to the Danamon Global Currency Card.
    • Danamon Global Currency Card Privilege is a debit card given to customers with privilege segments.
      Danamon Global Currency Card Optimal is a debit card given to customers with optimal segments.
      Danamon Global Currency Card Regular/Mass is given to customers who do not have privilege segments and optimal segments.
    • This notch design complies with Mastercard standards for aesthetic purposes, and as a differentiator for credit cards and debit cards for the visually impaired.
    • Customers can use the Danamon Global Currency Card in any country with transactions at ATMs or EDC machines that have the Mastercard, Cirrus/Maestro logo.
    • There is no charge for transactions at EDC/POS.
      For transactions at ATM machines, there will be a fee charged by Bank Danamon and an additional fee from the bank that owns the ATM machine (access fee).

      Note: the practice of transactions on EDC with the dip/insert method without using a PIN is very common abroad. For customer security, make sure to transact with the insert PIN method.
    • To be able to make cash withdrawals abroad without currency conversion using the Danamon Global Currency Card, select proceed without conversion. Proceed with conversion transactions will be rejected.
    • Customers can apply for a Danamon Global Currency Card by visiting the nearest Bank Danamon branch or by requesting a new card in the D-Bank PRO menu.
    • Customers can visit the nearest Bank Danamon branch or use the D-Bank PRO application to purchase foreign currency in the “Foreign Currency Transactions” menu on the main page.
    • There is no administration fee.
    • Some public transportation companies abroad apply the aggregate settlement method which will accumulate the total cost of the trip in one bill. In general, when the customer makes the first tap, it will be deducted by 0.1/1 dollar or the foreign currency applicable in that country. The customer's balance will be deducted by the final accumulation of the total cost of the trip within a period determined by each public transportation company, which is 1 to 14 days from the first tap.
    • Customers must select “Saving Account” to ensure the transaction goes through and is not rejected.
