Danamon Presents Danamon Financial Friday 2024: A Fun Way to Learn Finance and Find Financial Solutions

Jakarta, 28 May 2024 - To support measures made by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) in disseminating financial literacy to the Indonesian people, PT Bank Danamon Indonesia Tbk (“Danamon”) is proud to relaunch the Danamon Financial Friday (DFF) 2024. This initiative has been implemented since 2020 and is now presented in a more attractive way that takes the form of a mini-series with a storyline and various characters representing various financial tendencies of the people in it. The DFF 2024 will be held throughout 2024. Each new episode is uploaded on Friday every month on Danamon's YouTube channel, followed by important parts of the episode's content uploaded on other Danamon’s social media accounts such as TikTok, Instagram and Facebook.

Cognizant of the importance of financial literacy, Danamon once again presents an innovative and interesting financial education program through the DFF 2024. This is one of Danamon's steps to support the OJK in improving the financial literacy index.

Amid the rapid technological development in the digital era, financial literacy has emerged as an important aspect that every individual must have. Based on the 2022 National Survey of Financial Literacy and Inclusion conducted by the OJK, the financial literacy index in Indonesia still needs improvement as it has only reached 49.68%, as opposed to the financial inclusion index that has reached 85.10%. This demonstrates that there remains a gap between the financial literacy index and the financial inclusion index of 35.42%, meaning that more people are using financial products without prior understanding of the concept of financial regulation. In turn, lack of financial literacy can give rise to risks for society, such as fraud investments or getting trapped in online loans.

"Through the DFF, we want to reach all Indonesian people and provide financial education and increase financial literacy regarding banking services such as credit, savings, loans and insurance services from formal banking institutions. It is our hope that this step can improve people's ability to make financial decisions that suit their financial needs and goals. Through this financial education, we also aim to encourage the public to be more aware of acts of financial crimes, both cyber and conventional crimes," said Lily Puspasari, Chief Marketing Officer of PT Bank Danamon Indonesia Tbk.

Through the DFF 2024, Danamon also wants to renew its commitment as a customer centric bank with one stop financial solutions that provides not only provide quality products and services that are tailored to customers’ needs, but also consultations to both individual customers and those who are starting a business. This is in line with the bank’s aim to reinforce its position as part of a larger and stronger financial group, especially following the acquisition of Home Credit Indonesia by MUFG; Mandala Finance and Zurich by Adira Finance; as well as the support given by Danamon's strategic partners such as Akulaku, Grab, and Dana Ventura Garuda Fund by MUFG Innovation Partners Co., Ltd (MUIP).  Danamon hopes that customers can manage and develop their finances more effectively and grow with the Danamon financial group in a sustainable manner.

"With interesting format and topics that are relevant yet light and easy to discern, we hope this program can provide useful education and holistic financial solutions to the community. Therefore, we hope you will not miss every episode and be part of the journey of growing with us," Lily concluded.
