Bandung, 12 August 2025 – PT Bank Danamon Indonesia Tbk (“Danamon”), through its Danamon Peduli program as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, has once again reaffirmed its commitment to supporting sustainable business growth, with a particular emphasis on the education sector. Between May and July 2025, Danamon’s West Java Regional Office organized a series of collaborative activities in partnership with two leading educational institutions in Bandung: Widyatama University and Sekolah Bina Persada in Kota Baru Parahyangan.
Pinastika Junia, Regional Corporate Officer for the West Java Region of Danamon, explained, "Beyond our commitment to meeting customers’ financial needs and empowering both our employees and the broader community, Danamon is dedicated to growing alongside the community — including in the field of education. Through Danamon Peduli, we strive to provide the civitas academica with the support it needs to thrive in today’s increasingly competitive global landscape and digital era. We hope this infrastructure development collaboration between the two educational institutions will serve as a strong foundation for moving forward together, advancing our shared vision of a sustainable future for education for all."
Support for Laboratory Re-layout and Development of Rainwater Storage and Filtration Facilities
This series of activities commenced on 15 May 2025, with a re-layout program for the Industrial Engineering Laboratory at Widyatama University, Bandung. It was followed on 28 July 2025, by the construction of a rainwater filtration and storage facility, along with a financial literacy program at Sekolah Bina Persada in Kota Baru Parahyangan.
Danamon’s support for the re-layout of Widyatama University’s Industrial Engineering Laboratory is aimed at creating a more functional, safe, and efficient space that enables students to hone their skills effectively. The handover ceremony was highlighted by the signing of a commemorative plaque by Roeshartono, Chairman of the Widyatama Foundation, together with Pinastika Junia, Danamon’s Regional Corporate Officer for West Java.
Roeshartono, Chairman of the Widyatama Foundation, added, "Widyatama University is recognized as one of the higher education institutions committed to equipping its students with both hard and soft skills through various laboratory activities, internships, and other supporting programs. With a range of initiatives designed to produce competent and highly competitive future professionals, we are ready to face the challenges of today’s modern industry in collaboration with Danamon."
The second initiative carried out by Danamon was the construction of a rainwater storage and filtration facility at Sekolah Bina Persada in Kota Baru Parahyangan. Designed to reduce the reliance on groundwater from drilled wells, this initiative reflects Danamon’s commitment to environmental sustainability. The collected rainwater undergoes a thorough filtration process before being utilized for various clean-water purposes within the school, including toilet flushing and watering plants. Beyond its environmental advantages, the facility also provides a practical solution for mitigating the impact of the dry season, when water availability is often limited.
The handover ceremony for the facility took place on 28 July 2025, and was attended by Rusli Sutanto, Trustee of the Bina Persada Foundation; Abdul Hadi, Sustainability Finance Head of Danamon; and Pinastika Junia, Regional Corporate Officer for West Java of Danamon.
Enhancing Financial Literacy to Advance the Sustainable Development Goals
In conjunction with the handover of the rainwater filtration facility, Danamon also organized a financial literacy workshop for parents and guardians of students, as well as teachers at Sekolah Bina Persada. This initiative reflects Danamon’s ongoing commitment to empowering communities by providing accessible knowledge about beneficial financial information and products.
The training materials focused on financial planning and were specifically developed to align with Sekolah Bina Persada’s curriculum, which emphasizes integrated, hands-on learning. Through this program, participants gained a comprehensive understanding of effective and sustainable financial management.
Rusli Sutanto, Trustee of the Bina Persada Foundation,, stated, "We realize that with the growing demand for clean water, there must be a balance between meeting those needs and addressing the environmental challenges around us. Through this collaborative program between Bina Persada and Danamon, we hope our students will learn and appreciate the importance of managing our natural environment, including all sources of water that support human life, such as rainwater. We also hope that Danamon’s support will have a far-reaching impact, inspiring the use of rainwater reservoirs not only within our school but also in the homes of our students, teachers, and in our broader work environment. We are deeply grateful for Danamon’s contribution to Bina Persada and hope this rainwater harvesting project can serve as a model for communities everywhere, particularly in regions that often face drought during the dry season."
Danamon is fostering a more equitable and inclusive education ecosystem through capacity building and facility improvements. This initiative reflects the company’s commitment to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, and SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth.
Through these initiatives, Danamon aims to cultivate a more equitable and inclusive education ecosystem by enhancing capacity and providing essential supporting facilities. Danamon believes that investing in education is a strategic step toward building a sustainable future that benefits all stakeholders.
