Through this collaboration with the MPI of Muhammadiyah Central Leadership, we hope that this collaboration can be a catalyst for accelerating financial inclusion and enhance digital-based financial literacy and inclusion within the Muhammadiyah community."

Prof. Dr. Muchlas, M.T., Chairman of MPI PP Muhammadiyah, stated, “Digital transformation is not merely about adopting technology; it is a path of civilization to strengthen Muhammadiyah's identity as a modern Islamic movement that is professional and serves the community with excellence.”

The collaboration between Danamon Syariah and Muhammadiyah builds on a long-standing partnership between the two organizations. As part of One Financial Group with both global and local network, Danamon and its group members offer a holistic of financial solutions, including sharia-based banking through Danamon, automotive and non-automotive financing through Adira Finance and Mandala Finance, insurance services through Zurich Syariah, and consumer goods financing provided by Home Credit Indonesia. Danamon’s extensive global network, together with its parent company MUFG, spans over 40 markets worldwide. This coverage includes countries where Muhammadiyah Special Branch Management (PCIM) operates, such as Japan, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Australia.

Muhammadiyah, as the largest Islamic organization in Indonesia with millions of members, shares a vision with Danamon Syariah to drive digital transformation across various strategic sectors, including education, health, social services, and religion.

With this latest collaboration, Danamon Syariah will become the exclusive official banking partner within Muhammadiyah’s digital system, providing financial services through Satu Data Muhammadiyah (“SatuMu”), Muhammadiyah’s digital ecosystem, which encompasses millions of registered Muhammadiyah members. This partnership will also support the digital management of Muhammadiyah, which includes 35 Provincial Representatives, around 400 Country Representatives, approximately 3,000 District Representatives, and about 14,000 Sub-District Representatives. Danamon Syariah will offer a range of financial solutions through SatuMu, including account opening via the D-Bank PRO application, payment of contributions and bills for zakat, infaq, shadaqah, and waqf (ZISWAF) managed by the Muhammadiyah Zakat, Infaq, and Shadaqah Institution (Lazismu). Additional services include registration for Hajj and Umrah, automotive financing and multi-purpose loan from Adira Finance and Mandala Finance, as well as other financial solutions. All these services will be accessible through the MASA application, a digital platform designed to be efficient, secure, and aligned with sharia principles.

The integration of Danamon Syariah's digital financial solutions into the SatuMu ecosystem is facilitated through a development collaboration undertaken by Muhammadiyah Software Labs (“LabMu”), a specialized unit within Muhammadiyah that spearheads digital transformation initiatives, including the enhancement of data governance and information systems across the Muhammadiyah organization.

The collaboration between Danamon Syariah and Muhammadiyah is expected to create a tangible synergy that creates widespread impact. By offering sharia-based and digital financial solutions through Danamon Syariah, Danamon aims to support the financial digitalization of millions of Muhammadiyah members across Indonesia, thereby advancing financial literacy and inclusion through a collaborative, technology-driven approach. For Muhammadiyah, this partnership is expected to benefit the organization, its members, and the broader community, including by increasing sharia-based financial literacy and inclusion among Muhammadiyah members, also by supporting the digitalization of organizational management and the delivery of social services.
