Danamon’s Commissioner and Director Awarded "Infobank 500 Most Outstanding Women 2024"

Jakarta, 12 June 2024 – PT Bank Danamon Indonesia Tbk (Danamon) proudly announces that two of its Commissioners and Directors have received the Infobank 500 Most Outstanding Women 2024 award. This award, given by Infobank Magazine, recognizes 500 women who have made significant contributions to the growth of Indonesia's banking industry. The award was received by Hedy Lapian, Independent Commissioner of Danamon, and Rita Mirasari, Director of Danamon.

Hedy Lapian has served as an Independent Commissioner of Danamon since 2020. Hedy earned her MBA from the University of Pittsburgh, USA, in 1985 and her Bachelor's in Management from Parahyangan Catholic University Bandung in 1983. Currently, Hedy Lapian has also served as an Independent Commissioner of PT Supra Boga Lestari Tbk since May 2022. Before joining Danamon, Hedy held various executive roles in leading companies, including Crisis Management Advisor; Director of Human Resources; Director of SRO; Director of Risk Management; Commercial Director; Country Head of Corporate and Institutional Banking; Chief Financial Officer; and several other managerial positions.

Meanwhile, Rita Mirasari, with over 30 years of experience in the banking industry, has served as a Director of Danamon since 2016. Rita holds a Bachelor's in Law from the University of Indonesia. She began her banking career in 1991. Her responsibilities at Danamon include compliance with financial crime, corporate secretary, legal, and litigation. Before joining Danamon, Rita Mirasari held several executive positions in leading Indonesian companies, including Director of Regulatory Compliance & Financial Crime Compliance; Director of Legal, Compliance, and Corporate Secretary; Country Compliance Representative Director; and Compliance Director, Country Head of Legal & Compliance.

In her speech at the Gala Dinner held at The Stones Hotel, Kuta Bali, on Saturday, 1 June 2024, Rita stated that the award given by Infobank is crucial to encourage and inspire all women to take on roles and bring impact to the companies they work for, thereby positively impacting Indonesia's economy. Hedy added that women should dare to dream big, have high aspirations, and continuously challenge themselves to overcome obstacles in achieving those dreams.

This phenomenon aligns with the trend of women as leaders in Indonesia, with an increasing number of women holding strategic positions. According to data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), in 2023, 35.02% of women held managerial positions, a significant increase from 22.32% in 2015. This proves that women can also serve as leaders, just like men.

Danamon, as part of the MUFG Financial Group, together with Adira Finance, Zurich Asuransi Indonesia, Home Credit Indonesia, and Mandala Finance, is committed to support every employee in developing their skills and expertise, especially senior bankers and management in leading their business units. This commitment is reflected in the recognition received by Hedy and Rita.

Rita added, "I am grateful to Infobank for again recognizing me as one of the 500 Most Outstanding Women 2024. Through this award, I want to encourage all women to take on roles and make their best contributions in any position entrusted to us."
