Danamon Launches Coworking Space at Branch Offices with Next Generation Branch Concept

Jakarta, December 20, 2023 - As a customer-oriented bank, PT Bank Danamon Indonesia Tbk (Danamon) understands that each customer segment has its own uniqueness and different needs. With this belief and a commitment to continue innovating in providing the best financial and banking services, Danamon has launched a branch office transformation program that adopts the next generation branch concept supported by co-working space facilities.

In November this year, Danamon renovated and re-opened 10 branch offices, bringing the total number of branches adopting this concept to 49 branch offices.

The ten branch offices that underwent transformation throughout November are:

  • Jakarta Cyber 2 sub-branch office in South Jakarta
  • Jakarta Citra Garden II sub-branch office in West Jakarta
  • Surabaya Darmo sub-branch office in Surabaya, East Java Province
  • Samarinda Sudirman branch office in Samarinda, East Kalimantan Province
  • Pekanbaru Wahid Hasyim branch office in Pekanbaru, Riau Province
  • Pontianak ST Muhammad sub-branch office in Pontianak, West Kalimantan Province,
  • Bandung Kota Baru Parahyangan sub-branch office in West Bandung Regency, West Java Province
  • Medan Thamrin sub-branch office in Medan, North Sumatera Province
  • Padang Sudirman branch office in Padang, West Sumatera Province
  • Jakarta Garden sub-branch office in West Jakarta

In line with Danamon's commitment to keep abreast of the current developments and the company’s values of collaboration, integrity, responsive service and adaptive (shortened as BISA in Bahasa Indonesia), the branch transformation process is carried out with the awareness of changes in the culture and the lifestyle of customers and the communities, especially related to the need to building careers and expanding relations. This commitment is realized by providing co-working space facilities at Danamon branches which adopt the next generation branch concept.

Over the years, there has been a growing number of work facilities in several major cities in Indonesia that can be rented out daily. They are called co-working spaces. The concept of co-working space is basically due to the young generation's need for work facilities that can facilitate collaboration. Hence, the concept of co-working space has become increasingly popular among young workers with high mobility and with diverse business and work backgrounds.

Given this phenomenon, Danamon realizes that customers and the public demand a different experience when visiting branch offices, which to be where people made basic banking transactions. Today, however, branch offices are where more meaningful interactions can occur, for example those that build trust and collaboration in finding various solutions according to the needs of each customer at every important moment in their lives.

With an understanding of these lifestyle changes, Danamon combines these two needs through branch office transformation with the next generation branch concept, some of which equipped with co-working space facilities including in Surabaya Darmo sub-branch office, Samarinda Sudirman branch office and Pekanbaru Wahid Hasyim branch office.

"Through these branch offices that have adopted the next generation branch concept with co-working space facilities, Danamon aims to always be there for the dynamic and agile young generation both in pursuing their careers and in building their business relationships,” said Branch Network Head of PT Bank Danamon Indonesia Tbk, Eka Dinata.

Co-working spaces available in branch offices with the next generation branch concept can be used by customers and the public for free, in line with the branch operational schedule (Monday - Friday 08:00 – 17:00) as a work and discussion space so people can stay productive and build relationships. Features provided in these co-working spaces include tables, chairs, WiFi connection, power sockets, and coffee machine that can be enjoyed by visitors.
