Danamon Wins Mitra Bakti Husada 2021 Awards for K3 and COVID-19 Health Protocol Implementation and Corporate Social Responsibility Programs

During the pandemic, Danamon’s commitment to care and enable millions to prosper focused on maintaining health and safety of employees and the wider community through various Occupational Health and Safety policies, Health Protocols and Corporate Social Responsibility activities. 


Jakarta, 15 November 2021
– Indonesia’s Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) awarded PT Bank Danamon Indonesia Tbk (Danamon) with two prestigious Mitra Bakti Husada 2021 distinctions: first, for achievement in the implementation of best Occupational Safety and Health (K3) and COVID-19 Health Protocols in the Company category; and second, for the best CSR program in the Disaster Response category. The awards were given in commemoration of the 57th National Health Day (HKN) held last Friday, 12 November 2021.


Danamon also won the Mitra Bakti Husada 2021 Award in the category of ‘Best CSR Program for Disaster Response by a Company’

Throughout the pandemic, Danamon has been consistently implementing health protocols at our head office and branch offices in accordance to government guidelines, such as maintaining social distance, wearing masks, providing hand sanitizers, installing face recognition tools and checking body temperature. In addition, Danamon also applied stringent Work-from-Home and Work-from-Office regulations while separating operations for employees working in critical units, establishing a Health Corner equipped with swab and rapid test facilities, and mandatory employee daily surveys through the D-Care application which monitors their daily health conditions.

Danamon also regularly organized a series of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities during the pandemic. To date, Danamon has provided more than 24,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccines for the general public, market, online ride-hailing drivers and MSME communities, as well as our customers through vaccination programs in 13 cities and regencies in Indonesia, namely Jakarta, Bandung Regency, Sleman, Denpasar, Balikpapan, Samarinda, Tanah Grogot, Sangatta, Nunukan, Banjarmasin, Pontianak, Palangkaraya and Medan. In support of Covid-19 response efforts, Danamon collaborated with MUFG and Adira Finance, the government and private sectors, as well as non-profit organizations. For external CSR programs targeting communities, Danamon has provided over IDR 1 billion worth of donations that support online raid-hailing drivers, in the form of, among others, more than 11,000 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), life and work accident insurance for over 17,000 Covid-19 volunteers in coordination with the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), JPY 5 million assistance to Indonesian students in Japan who were affected by Covid-19, and establishment of an isolation center facility in Ciawi, plus 3 Covid-19 emergency hospitals in Jakarta.

“In a pandemic, it is very easy to feel trapped and lose hope. Through our vaccination program for employees, the general public and market traders or MSME entrepreneurs, Danamon hopes to participate in nation-building to help Indonesians regain control, rise up and rebuild their lives post pandemic," said Yasushi.


 

Supporting the Government in Accelerating Vaccination Rates through Vaccination Programs for Danamon Employees and the General Public

Danamon has also continued to support the government to accelerate its Covid-19 vaccination program. Coinciding with the National Heroes' Day commemoration in November, Danamon organized a series of vaccination programs benefiting customers, market community and the general public. The first of this series of activities was held on 6-7 November 2021 in Medan, in collaboration with the Financial Services Authority, North Sumatra Provincial Health Office, Medan City Health Office and Royal Prima Hospital. A total of 1,500 first dose vaccinations were administered to the public, including Danamon customers and their families.

The next vaccination activity, which benefited Jakarta’s Pasar Senen market community on 10-12 November 2021, was organized in collaboration with Perumda Pasar Jaya, DKI Jakarta Health Office, and Premiere Jatinegara Hospital Jakarta. On 13 – 14 November 2021, the vaccination campaign proceeded to Bandung. In cooperation with Perumda Pasar Juara and the Bandung City Health Office. The vaccines were administered to Bandung’s market communities of Cihaurgeulis and Baltos. Prior to this, Danamon’s support of the vaccination campaign benefitted the areas of Sleman, Kalimantan and Bali, as well as several other locations throughout Indonesia.
