Changes in Banking Activities Related to the Operational Merger of Bank Danamon — Bank BNP

Dear ex Bank BNP Customers,

We want to thank you for your trust and support. We value our relationship, and we are therefore committed to continue delivering the best services to our customers. 

As we have previously communicated, since the Legal Merger of PT Bank Danamon Indonesia, Tbk (Bank Danamon) with PT Bank Nusantara Parahyangan Tbk. (Bank BNP) on 1 May 2019, we are in the process of completing the operation and system integration process, estimated to be completed on 2 September 2019 (The Effective Date of the Operational Merger). Hence, we would like to provide further updates on the development process of this operational merger.

As of The Effective Date of the Operational Merger, estimated to be 2 September 2019, you can start enjoying a variety of financial solutions and wider access to Bank Danamon’s branch and ATM networks as well as SMS, internet and mobile banking services. As our valued customer, it is our priority to ensure this transition will be done seamlessly with minimum disruption to you. We will continuously provide updates on the development of this operational merger through letters, relationship managers / Bank BNP customer service staff as well as our other official communication channels.

What does this mean for you?

Starting on the Effective Date of the Operational Merger, estimated to be 2 September 2019, all former Bank BNP operational activities will be fully merged with Bank Danamon including all Bank BNP branches and ATMs, which will become Bank Danamon branches and ATMs. As a result, you will be able to enjoy wider access to our various financial solutions. Supported by professional bankers who are committed and experienced in banking, Bank Danamon promises to stay close to you as our customer through its 464 branches and access to more than 60,000 ATMs across 34 provinces, supported by digital services such as mobile banking, internet banking, and SMS banking.

What does this mean for you?

This change will not affect the fund transfer operations for customers, since these codes is not needed in your fund transfer instruction.

3. Account number

Your account in Bank BNP will automatically become a Bank Danamon account, starting from the Effective Date of the Operational Merger, estimated to be 2 September 2019. 

Your full account number for checking and savings account will change to 
For example: if you have ‘88833100100’ as your account number, it will automatically become ‘088833100100’.*

*If there is a change from the information mentioned above, we will communicate it through a separate letter 

Account numbers for Deposit accounts will change when you apply for an extension.  

What does this mean for you?

Your updated account number will automatically be activated once it becomes a Bank Danamon account number following the Effective Date of the Operational Merger, estimated to be 2 September 2019. As such, you do not need to re-activate your account number once it has become a Bank Danamon account.

What does this mean to you?

All previously owned products at Bank BNP will be automatically changed to Bank Danamon products as listed in the above table. All products and services will be subject to Bank Danamon’s terms and conditions. 

In addition to the products listed above, you will have access to a variety of Bank Danamon products that are designed to meet your financial needs.

5. Loans

Loan agreements and processes continue as normal. We advise you to contact your relationship manager who handles your lending account for more information. 

What does this mean to you?

If you already have a lending account at Bank BNP and Bank Danamon, on the Effective Date of the Operational Merger that is estimated to be 2 September 2019, your lending account and credit limit in Bank BNP will transferred and managed separately with the credit limit in your Bank Danamon lending account.

6. New Banking Products and Services

You may only register for new Bank BNP products and services until 31 July 2019.

7. Checks and Demand Deposits

Bank BNP checks and/or demand deposits will still be valid until 3 months after the Effective Date of the Operational Merger, estimated to be 2 September 2019.  

What does this mean for you?

You can still use your Bank BNP checks and/or demand deposits until 3 months after the Effective Date of the Operational Merger, estimated to be 2 September 2019.  (Last Date of Clearing or Transfer).

Request for Bank Danamon checks and/or demand deposits can be done starting on 2 September 2019.  Starting on that date, Bank BNP checks/demand deposits that have not been used can be replaced with checks/demand deposits issued by Bank Danamon.

8. Clearing Process for checks and demand deposits 

Before the Effective Date of the Operational Merger, estimated to be 2 September 2019: 

  • The deadline for accepting checks and/or demand deposits for clearing at Bank BNP branches in Jakarta, Bandung and Surabaya is 28 August 2019. 
  • The deadline for accepting checks and/or demand deposits for clearing at Bank BNP branches in cities outside of Jakarta, Bandung, and Surabaya is 29 August 2019.
  • Cashier’s checks can still be cashed in at all Bank BNP branches until 30 August 2019.

After the Effective Date of the Operational Merger, estimated to be 2 September 2019: 

  • The clearing process for checks and/or demand deposit will continue as normal at Bank Danamon branches.

Post-dated checks will be accepted with the following terms:

  • For Jakarta, Bandung, and Surabaya: with a maximum due date of 28 August 2019
  • For cities outside of Jakarta, Bandung, and Surabaya: with a maximum due date of 29 August 2019.

What does this mean for you?

If you are using our clearing service (as a recipient or debtor) for check and/or demand deposit, please note the above dates, since they might affect your cash management plan.

9. Passbook 

Regarding the change of Bank BNP products into Bank Danamon products, you will need to replace Bank BNP passbooks with Bank Danamon passbooks at the nearest Bank Danamon branch, starting from the effective date of the operational merger, estimated to be on 2 September 2019.

What does this mean for you?

To ensure convenience during transaction, we advise you to update your Bank BNP passbook at any Bank Danamon branch, starting from the effective date of the operational merger, estimated to be on 2 September 2019.

In addition to using your passbook to access your account information, we advise you to use the Bank Danamon e-statement service after the Effective Date of the Operational Merger, estimated to be 2 September 2019.

10. Debit/ATM Card

Regarding the change of Bank BNP services into Bank Danamon services, you will also need to replace Bank BNP's Debit/ATM cards with Bank Danamon Debit/ATM cards at the nearest Bank Danamon branch, starting from the effective date of the operational merger, estimated to be on 2 September 2019.

However, you can still use your Bank BNP Debit/ATM cards, either Visa or GPN, as long as it has not expired, until 28 February 2020.

Bank BNP Debit/ATM cards with a Visa logo cannot be used for overseas transactions starting from 30 August 2019.

What does this mean for you?

In order to improve our services to you, we advise you to replace your Bank BNP Debit /ATM Card with a Bank Danamon Debit/ATM Card before 28 February 2019.  For customers requiring overseas transaction services via Debt / ATM cards, they are urged to replace their old BNP card with new Bank Danamon card soon after the Effective Date of the Operational Merger, estimated to be 2 September 2019.

11. Auto-debit payment

In regards to bill payment through auto-debit, starting from the Effective Date of the Operational Merger, estimated to be 2 September 2019, the date in which the account is debited for bill payment will be adjusted according to Bank Danamon’s policies. For PLN and Telkom bill payment, the debit date will be starting from the 7th of every month to the 20th, while for other service providers, the debit date will be adjusted to the billing date of each service provider.

What does this mean for you?
Starting from the Effective Date of the Operational Merger, estimated to be 2 September 2019, we advise you to ensure that there are sufficient funds in your account for auto-debit bill payments before the dates mentioned above. Please contact your relationship manager, for more information.

12. Internet Banking

Starting from the Effective Date of the Operational Merger that is estimated to be 2 September 2019, you can enjoy Bank Danamon Internet Banking service, Danamon Online Banking, by registering at the nearest Bank Danamon branches (including ex-Bank BNP branch). 

What does this mean to you?

Regarding to the Operational Merger, Bank BNP Internet Banking will not be able to use as of 30 August 2019. However, we offer Bank Danamon Internet Banking service, which can meet your digital transaction needs. You can register for Bank Danamon Internet Banking in any Bank Danamon branch (including ex-Bank BNP branch).  Danamon Online Banking offers a variety of features, including capabilities to shop and make an online payment, and using soft token (SMS Token). In addition to internet banking, you can also activate D-Bank mobile banking service for convenient banking transaction through smartphone as well as SMS Banking service.

13. Payroll Facility 

Starting from the Effective Date of the Operational Merger, estimated to be 2 September 2019, the payroll facility will be executed through Danamon Cash Connect (DCC), an internet banking service with a variety of conveniences.   

What does this mean for you?

To use the payroll facility through the DCC internet banking service, you need to fill the DCC registration form from 1 to 31 July 2019. Your relationship manager will assist you providing guidance in using DCC in August 2019 and implement DCC on the Effective Date of the Operational Merger that is estimated to be 2 September 2019.

14. Safe Deposit Box 

You can continue to receive the Safe Deposit Box (SDB) service at Bank BNP branches. Starting on 1 January 2020, SDB service will be subject to Bank Danamon’s terms and conditions. 

What does this mean for you?

SDB service will continue to run as usual. If there is any change regarding this service, we will inform you accordingly. 

15. Unsecured loan (KTA) Mirai+

Starting from the Effective Date of the Operational Merger, estimated to be 2 September 2019, KTA Mirai+ installment payment with cash can be performed at any Bank Danamon branch (including ex-Bank BNP branch). 

Your full account number for your KTA account will change to 
For example: if you have ‘88833100100’ as your account number, it will automatically become ‘088833100100’.*

What does this mean for you?
The Operational Merger will not affect the facilities (terms, interest rate, installment size, payment methods, payment channels) for your KTA.
