8 May 2020 – PT Bank Danamon Indonesia Tbk (Bank Danamon), to commemorate the first anniversary of MUFG investment in Bank Danamon and as a form of gratitude and active contribution to the fight against COVID-19, donates to provide insurance from BPJamsostek for 10,000 volunteers from the Indonesian National Board for Disaster Management (BNPB). This protection is hoped to provide support and peace of mind for the volunteers who are at the front lines in the fight to curb the spread of COVID-19.
The kick-off ceremony to give insurance to the volunteers was held today in Gedung Graha BNPB, attended by representatives from BNPB, BPJamsostek and Bank Danamon.
“Bank Danamon is very grateful to the hard work and courage of the volunteers in helping the country and Indonesians in facing COVID-19. In their line of work, volunteers face plenty of risks to their health and safety. Thus, to commemorate the first anniversary of MUFG investment in Bank Danamon, we are committed in providing them protection from those risks through providing insurance for 10,000 medical and nonmedical volunteers from BNPB. We would also like to thank BNPB and BPJamsostek for their collaboration in this noble endeavor. This collaboration and assistance shows that when all elements within the community join forces to fight against a common challenge, we will create a powerful effort that will prevail against the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Yasushi Itagaki, Bank Danamon President Director.
Bank Danamon previously collaborates with two giant ride-hailing providers in Indonesia, Grab with their partner BenihBaik, and Gojek, through their foundation, Yayasan Anak Bangsa Bisa (YABB) to provide basic food package for their drivers in the form of cash donations over 1 Billion Rupiah.
