Jambi, August 3rd, 2026 – PT Bank Danamon Indonesia Tbk (“Danamon”), through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, organized financial literacy program and ceremonial handover of library interior donation to Suria Harapan School, Jambi. This initiative is part of Danamon’s commitment to supporting the development of education and an inclusive literacy culture in Indonesia, thereby strengthening the foundation of Indonesia’s younger generation in a sustainable manner.

Carrying the theme “Belajar Mengelola Keuangan Sejak Dini untuk Masa Depan yang Lebih Baik” or learning to manage finances from an early age for a better future, this financial education program was attended by high school students, teacher representatives, and the principal of Suria Harapan School. The event was also attended by Helmiyani, Deputy Head of OJK Jambi Province; Thamrin Tambunan, Regional Corporate Officer, Danamon Sumatra Region 2; Iqbal Maulana, Danamon’s Sustainability Finance Head; and Agus, Head of the Suria Harapan School Foundation.

This activity demonstrates Danamon’s support for the implementation of OJK Regulation (POJK) Number 3 of 2023 concerning the Improvement of Financial Literacy and Inclusion in the Financial Services Sector for Consumers and the Public, which encourages financial services providers to play an active role in improving financial literacy and inclusion among the public.

“Based on the results of the National Survey on Financial Literacy and Inclusion (SNLIK), there is still a gap of 14.02% between the levels of financial literacy and financial inclusion among the Indonesian public. To address this challenge, OJK consistently encourages various educational and financial literacy improvement programs, including for students, who are one of the priority segments identified in the SNLIK. We appreciate Danamon’s commitment to actively supporting efforts to improve financial literacy through educational activities targeting the younger generation. Collaboration between regulators, the financial services industry, and educational institutions such as this is important to equip students with the ability to manage their finances wisely from an early age, while also increasing awareness of various risks such as illegal investments, illegal online lending, and online gambling practices,” said Helmiyani, Deputy Head of OJK Jambi Province.

Thamrin Tambunan, Regional Corporate Officer, Danamon Sumatra Region 2, said, “Financial literacy is an important foundation that can help younger generations make wise and informed financial decisions in the future. Therefore, we strive to provide educational initiatives that support the creation of financially literate society. This initiative is in line with Danamon’s commitment to growing together with the community and creating positive impact on the environment and the communities where we operate.”

Thamrin Tambunan (Regional Corporate Officer, Danamon Sumatra Region 2) delivered opening remarks to the students of Suria Harapan School Senior High School.

In addition to organizing the financial literacy program, Danamon also supported the strengthening of literacy culture through the revitalization of the library interior at Suria Harapan School. This initiative reflects Danamon’s commitment to supporting the improvement of education quality and creating a conducive learning environment for younger generations.

The donation provided includes bookshelves, reading tables, and various other supporting facilities. Through these facility upgrades, it is hoped that the library can become a comfortable learning space and encourage students’ interest in reading and enthusiasm for learning within the school environment.

“We hope this activity will not only provide an understanding of good financial management but also encourage a younger generation that is eager to learn, thinks critically, and is ready to plan for a better future,” concluded Thamrin.
