Collaboration of MUFG, Danamon, and Adira Finance Launch Nusantara Clean Water Facilities Program in Aceh

Jakarta, April 17, 2026 – Demonstrating its commitment to “Grow Together as One Financial Group”, MUFG Bank, Ltd., Jakarta Branch (“MUFG Bank Jakarta”), together with PT Bank Danamon Indonesia Tbk (“Danamon”, IDX: BDMN), and PT Adira Dinamika Multi Finance Tbk (“Adira Finance”, IDX: ADMF), have joined forces to support post-disaster recovery efforts through the Nusantara Clean Water Facilities Program. The initiative focuses on rebuilding and restoring access to clean water in three disaster affected districts in Aceh Province, namely Aceh Tamiang, North Aceh, and Pidie Jaya. This collaborative effort was developed in response to the severe hydrometeorological disasters, including flash floods and landslides, that struck Aceh and several regions across Sumatra in late 2025, causing extensive damage to essential community infrastructure, particularly clean water facilities.

Michiyasu Yatabe, Managing Director and Head of Internal Control for Indonesia of MUFG, stated, “In line with our commitment to sustainability, MUFG Bank recognizes the importance of providing resources that create lasting benefits for local communities. Through strategic collaboration and the spirit of mutual cooperation, this initiative is expected to accelerate recovery efforts and enhance the quality of life, paving the way for safer, healthier, and more resilient communities.”

Herry Hykmanto, Director of Sharia & Sustainability Finance of Danamon, said, “The Nusantara Clean Water Facility Program reflects our commitment to grow together with the community through a sustainable approach. The initiative not only supports post-disaster recovery but also serves as a mitigation effort during the dry season. We also promote environmental and health literacy to empower communities to actively maintain and care for clean water facilities, ensuring their long-term benefits.”

Swandajani Gunadi, Vice President Director of Adira Finance, said, “Through the Sayang Bumiku program, Adira Finance is committed to contributing to initiatives that address the community’s fundamental needs and deliver tangible benefits. We believe that access to clean water and a healthy environment are essential foundations for building resilient, empowered, and sustainable communities, in line with the group’s commitment to creating meaningful social impact.”

As part of its corporate social responsibility initiative, the program emphasizes not only emergency relief but also long-term recovery. Implemented in partnership with Dompet Dhuafa, the program’s main intervention includes building permanent clean water facilities through the drilling of groundwater wells, construction of water towers, and installation of water tanks with a capacity of around 2,000 liters at each site. In addition to providing access to clean water, the program also distributes community work equipment to support post-disaster cleanup efforts. The assistance includes wheelbarrows, shovels, and mud suction machines with a capacity of up to 500 liters per minute, used to remove residual flood sediment and accelerate the restoration of affected residential areas.

MUFG, Danamon, and Adira Finance symbolically delivered the support through handover ceremonies held on April 14–15, 2026, across three locations. The events were attended by representatives from MUFG, Danamon, Adira Finance, Dompet Dhuafa, and local community members. In Aceh Tamiang, the program also included educational activities on clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS) for children, along with free general health checks provided to around 100 residents.

More than just distributing post-disaster aid, the Nusantara Clean Water Facilities Program represents an integrated recovery initiative that addresses the risks of drought and climate change. Through the construction of permanent clean water infrastructure, MUFG, Danamon, and Adira Finance aim to help communities not only recover from disaster impacts but also build resilience against future water scarcity. This collaboration with Dompet Dhuafa underscores the three institutions’ commitment to sustainable community development, resilience building, and long-term social impact. MUFG, Danamon, and Adira Finance share the belief that strengthening access to clean water is a fundamental step toward creating resilient and prosperous communities.
