Danamon Held DAYATARA Hands of Hope, a Manifestation of Care for Person with Disabilities

Jakarta, 29 December 2025 - PT Bank Danamon Indonesia Tbk (“Danamon”, IDX: BDMN), through its flagship diversity and inclusion program, Danamon Berdaya Mengusung Kesetaraan (DAYATARA), proudly introduces a social initiative titled Hands of Hope. This activity is not only a form of commitment from Danamon to supporting equality and the empowerment of persons with disabilities in Indonesia but also serves as a platform for Danamoners to directly interact with friends with disabilities, learn to communicate, and encourage empathy through concrete actions such as donations.

This activity involves collaboration between DAYATARA, the Sustainable Finance team, and the Danamon Peduli employee community to raise donations for Sumber Budi Special School for the Deaf and Mentally Impaired (SLB BC), as well as for families of Danamon employees with disabilities.

Data from Statistics Indonesia (BPS) in 2024 show that the number of persons with disabilities in Indonesia exceeds 17.8 million individuals. Of this total, around one-third have not completed basic education, while only approximately 23.94% of persons with disabilities participate in the labor force. Danamon introduces the DAYATARA program to provide equal opportunities for all individuals across gender, generations, religions, and physical conditions, so that everyone has a fair chance to grow, be empowered, and contribute meaningfully to the organization.

The Hands of Hope initiative is implemented by participants of the DAYATARA Internship Program for Persons with Disabilities, which forms an integral part of Danamon’s strategy to create inclusive employment opportunities for people with disabilities. DAYATARA is an overarching diversity and inclusion program that integrates various initiatives to foster an equitable work and social ecosystem. This program encompasses training, career development, and social support for vulnerable groups, including persons with disabilities, to help build a more inclusive and sustainable future.

The Hands of Hope activity series commenced with a donation drive held on 23–25 September 2025, coinciding with the commemoration of International Sign Language Day. This program has received strong endorsement from D. Ejima, President Director of Danamon, together with Danamon’s senior management, as a strategy to strengthen the values of diversity and inclusion as the foundation of Danamon’s work culture. The fundraising event also featured a series of engaging activities, including learning Indonesian Sign Language (Bisindo) together with members of the deaf community, interacting with deaf baristas from Kopi Sunyi, and writing messages and aspirations on the Pohon Harapan (Hope Tree).

The donation has been allocated to SLB BC Sumber Budi in Petukangan, South Jakarta, on 24 November 2025, which consisted of operational funds and various learning and skills-support materials such as speech trainer, sewing machines, and sports and recreational equipment.

Through this initiative, Danamon reaffirms its commitment to building a more equitable and inclusive ecosystem by enhancing capacities and providing supporting facilities for persons with disabilities, as a strategic step toward shaping a sustainable future for all stakeholders.
