Danamon Provides Support for Disaster Survivors in Sumatra through Dompet Dhuafa Social Enterprise
Jakarta, 12 December 2025 - PT Bank Danamon Indonesia Tbk (“Danamon”) provided aid to disaster survivors across several provinces in Sumatra, as part of Danamon’s commitment to care and contribute to society. The aid is distributed through Dompet Dhuafa Social Enterprise (“DDSE”), an institution that works in the field of humanity and sustainability through corporate partnerships, to deliver relief aimed at easing the burden of victims and supporting post-disaster recovery efforts.
Riana Suagiat, Regional Corporate Officer for Sumatra 1 of Danamon, stated, “Danamon’s vision to care and enable millions to prosper is realized not only through its business activities but also through social contributions, especially during times of disaster. In emergency situations like the current disaster, Danamon strives to provide support to survivors. Through collaboration with DDSE, we reaffirm our commitment to alleviate the community’s burden and assist in post-disaster recovery. We hope that Danamon’s assistance through DDSE will help restore the spirit of survivors so they can continue toward a better life.”
The assistance provided by Danamon through DDSE included hygiene kits and school supplies, two essential needs for survivors. Hygiene kits are critical given the compromised sanitation conditions caused by the disaster, which can lead to various diseases. Meanwhile, school supplies symbolize hope and an investment in the future for affected children, ensuring they can continue their education despite challenging circumstances.
The distribution of aid was carried out in stages in three main affected locations. In Aceh, assistance was delivered to four village offices in Matangkuli District, North Aceh Regency on 8 December 2025. In North Sumatra, aid was given to residents of Dusun Satu, Paya Bengkuang Village, Gebang District, Langkat Regency on 7 December 2025. Meanwhile, in West Sumatra, the distribution was carried out in Jorong Kayu Pasak, Nagari Salareh Aia, Palembayan District, Agam Regency on 9 December 2025.
“In facing situations like this, the participation of various parties is greatly needed to help ease the burden on the community. Danamon, as part of the community and stakeholders in the Sumatra region, is committed to continuing to contribute through various disaster response and social programs. Collaboration with DDSE is one form of effective synergy to directly reach victims and provide targeted assistance,” Riana added.
Through these concrete actions, Danamon emphasizes that business sustainability is not only measured by business performance alone but also by social contributions given to the wider community. Danamon hopes that the assistance provided can encourage survivors to get through this difficult time and open a new chapter full of hope. Going forward, Danamon will continue to monitor developments in affected areas and coordinate with various parties to ensure aid can be distributed optimally. Danamon is also committed to strengthening corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs focused on community empowerment and disaster risk mitigation.
