Danamon Reaffirms Its Commitment to Inclusivity by Re-introducing DAYATARA for People with Disabilities

D. Ejima

Jakarta, 30 September 2025 – Building upon the success of the Danamon Berdaya Mengusung Kesetaraan (“DAYATARA”) program initiated in early October 2024, PT Bank Danamon Indonesia Tbk (“Danamon”, IDX: BDMN) is proud to announce the relaunch of the DAYATARA Internship Program for Persons with Disabilities for the second time. DAYATARA is a Danamon initiative dedicated to fostering diversity, equality, and inclusion (DEI) in the workplace.

D. Ejima, President Director of Danamon, stated, “DAYATARA is Danamon’s strategic initiative to realize an inclusive working environment, aligning with MUFG’s group vision to create a fair, equal, and diverse organization. We are committed to provide equal opportunities for all individuals across genders, generations, religions, and physical conditions, so that everyone has the same, fair growth opportunities and is empowered to meaningfully contribute to the organization. By embracing diversity in all its forms, including those with disabilities, we strive to build a stronger, more sustainable future that respects the unique and diverse strengths and perspectives of every individual.”

Evi Damayanti, Chief Human Capital and Operations Officer of Danamon, stated, “DAYATARA is more than an internship program; it is a vital investment in cultivating an inclusive and sustainable workplace culture. We acknowledge the significant challenges faced by persons with disabilities in accessing decent employment opportunities in Indonesia. Through DAYATARA, we are not only opening our doors to talented individuals with disabilities, but also broadening participation across all operational functions. It is our hope that this program serves as a catalyst for positive transformation, both within our organization and across the banking industry.”

One component of the DAYATARA initiative is a dedicated internship program designed by Danamon for young talents with disabilities. Through this program, participants are offered the opportunity to undertake a six-month internship at Danamon. The DAYATARA internship aims to empower participants by providing practical work experience within a supportive and disability-inclusive banking environment, while championing workplace equality and diversity.

For the second wave of the DAYATARA program, which has been running from August 2025 to February 2026, Danamon will place participants across a broader range of work functions, including compliance, service excellence and customer care, finance, operations, risk management, and human resources.

During the program, DAYATARA participants will have the opportunity to develop both technical and soft skills, tailored to the requirements and expectations of banking roles. In addition, they will receive mentoring and guidance from experienced Danamon employees to support their professional growth and provide valuable insights, with the goal of opening future career pathways and enabling collaborative projects.

In implementing the DAYATARA program, Danamon collaborates with Koneksi Indonesia Inklusif (“KONEKIN”), a social business platform dedicated to empowering and educating individuals with disabilities to promote an inclusive economy. KONEKIN provides Disability Equality Training (DET), inclusive event organizing, and DEI consultations to support organizational inclusion efforts. Through this partnership, KONEKIN delivers training on disability awareness, recognition and mitigation of unconscious bias, as well as Indonesian Sign Language (Bisindo) instruction for mentors and supervisors of DAYATARA participants, fostering a more inclusive work environment.

For Danamon, the launch of the DAYATARA program demonstrates its strong commitment to advancing diversity, equality, and inclusion initiatives that prioritize the value of a diverse workforce as a strategic organizational asset. This program is also anticipated to contribute to enhanced employee retention and engagement, thereby fostering greater loyalty, motivation, and productivity among staff.
