Jakarta, 24 December 2024 – PT Bank Danamon Indonesia Tbk, through its Sharia Business Unit (UUS), achieved remarkable recognition by securing three prestigious awards at the 2024 BPKH Banking Award. The event, organized by the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH), took place on December 13, 2024, at the Sheraton Grand Gandaria City, Jakarta. This annual ceremony honors the contributions of 30 sharia banking partners who have played a significant role in enhancing services for hajj pilgrims across Indonesia.
At the event, UUS Danamon proudly secured three distinguished awards: Rank 1 – BPS BPIH Contribution to the Growth of the Best Hajj Registrants 2024 in the National Bank Sharia Business Unit (UUS) category, Rank 3 – BPS BPIH Best Young Hajj Registrants 2024 in the same category, and Rank 3 – BPS BPIH Best Hajj Registrants 2024 in the National Bank Sharia Business Unit (UUS) category. These accolades not only underscore UUS Danamon's success in executing a sharia-based business strategy but also to highlight its significant contributions in advancing BPKH's mission of improving access to and the quality of hajj services.
Head of the BPKH Implementing Agency, Fadlul Imansyah expressed his appreciation, stating: "We present this award as a token of recognition for the dedication and contributions of our Islamic banking partners, who consistently support the BPKH in delivering progressively better Hajj services."
Fadlul further elaborated that, as part of efforts to facilitate prospective hajj pilgrims, the BPKH has introduced an app enabling users to register for hajj and make initial deposits digitally. To support this initiative, BPKH has collaborated with seven banks, including Danamon, to participate in the launch of the app. This innovative platform allows users to complete the hajj registration process without the need to visit a bank branch or go through manual procedures, streamlining the experience for prospective pilgrims.
Herry Hykmanto, Director of Sharia and Sustainability Finance at Danamon, expressed his gratitude upon receiving the award on behalf of UUS Danamon. He stated, "This achievement is tangible proof of our commitment to consistently delivering the best service and relevant financial solutions for prospective hajj pilgrims. We are immensely proud to support the BPKH in fostering a better hajj service ecosystem."
Herry further highlighted that UUS Danamon's success in winning the awards was a reflection of its exceptional performance throughout 2024. As of November 2024, UUS Danamon achieved a remarkable 43% year-on-year (YoY) growth in hajj registrants, making it one of the national banks with the highest overall growth in this segment. This impressive performance also contributed to UUS Danamon's recognition in the Best Young Hajj Registrant category, with 22% of its total hajj registrants being individuals under the age of 30. In addition, UUS Danamon is also one of the national banks with the highest overall growth in hajj registrants, ranking the best nationally.
This success is bolstered by the excellent services provided by UUS Danamon, including its Hajj Pilgrim Savings Account (RTJH) product. This product is specifically designed to simplify the process for prospective hajj pilgrims in meeting registration requirements, such as the initial payment of the Hajj Pilgrimage Management Fee (BPIH) of Rp25 million. The RTJH product is seamlessly integrated with the Integrated Hajj Computerized System (SISKOHAT) managed by the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs, ensuring customers receive direct confirmation of their hajj portion number. This service also enables hassle-free transactions without additional fees through the Mastercard Electronic ATM network in Saudi Arabia, offering unparalleled convenience to pilgrims during their holy journey.
The RTJH UUS Danamon product not only simplifies administrative processes but also ensures security and transparency for prospective hajj pilgrims. Individuals who meet the financial requirements can easily open an RTJH account at any Danamon branch displaying the iB logo. The product is also accessible to applicants as young as 12 years old, broadening its reach and making it an inclusive solution for facilitating hajj preparations.
According to Herry Hykmanto, the innovative services and products offered by UUS Danamon reflect its unwavering support for the vision and mission of the BPKH. He said, "We believe the Hajj pilgrimage is a profoundly meaningful spiritual journey. Therefore, UUS Danamon remains committed to delivering products and services that not only simplify the process for prospective pilgrims but also reinforce the spirit of sharia in every aspect of our operations."
The 2024 BPKH Banking Award also serves as a moment of reflection for UUS Danamon to further enhance its service quality. With a strong emphasis on innovation, inclusivity, and sustainability, UUS Danamon is committed to being a trusted partner in the hajj pilgrimage journey of the Indonesian people. This dedication aligns with the BPKH's vision of creating an inclusive and sharia-compliant hajj financial ecosystem, supporting prospective pilgrims in fulfilling their aspirations of visiting the Holy Land.
Herry underscored that these achievements demonstrate how close collaboration between the sharia banking sector and government institutions like the BPKH can deliver tangible benefits to the community. He added, "Moving forward, UUS Danamon will continue to innovate and provide the best sharia financial solutions, ensuring that every prospective hajj pilgrim receives optimal service to support their worship journey."
